Stray Dog Charters is a phenomenal Florida deep sea fishing charter. Captain Scott and his mate Wes are a blast to go fishing with. We had a great time catching a whole mess of grouper, grunts, and a host of other things from the deep. I even hooked (accidently, of course) a loggerhead turtle which was like bringing up a sack of bricks from the ocean's bottom. Captain Scott has been professionally guiding offshore fishing trips full time out of the Cortez docks for over 25 years. In that course of time he has developed a reputation for producing quality catches consistently. Wes Francis is the boat's full time mate. Wes knows his stuff, and helps make the trip much better. Due to the fast pace of offshore charter fishing, a lot of times it takes more than one person to keep up.

Deep Sea fishing charters in Florida, or anywhere for that matter, are better with a mate. Mates typically work for 15 - 20% of the trip cost, and are well worth it to keep your pole in the water, and those fish piling in the cooler.
